Just a couple of items to note about using the drop box on-line.
First, a few students reported getting "access denied" errors trying
to use the drop box link. These should now be fixed.
Second, when you click on the drop box link to go to your drop box,
it may take a l-o-n-g time for the corresponding page to show up.
This delay is due to the huge load on the Blackboard server, and the
computing center is in the process of fixing it. It probably will
not be fixed until the end of the month, but the drop box still works--
just be patient for that page to display. More than likely, things will
be speedier once you get the initial drop box page to show.
Third, when uploading files in the drop box, be sure to ALWAYS use
the "Send File" button, rather than the "Add File" button. If you
use "Add File", your upload will be placed in a "holding area" waiting
for you to send it--it will not actually be delivered to the instructor!
At the main drop box screen, you can see the list of files you have
uploaded. Those that say "Submitted by: ...." are the ones that have
actually been sent to the instructor. Those that simply say
"Posted on ..." have been uploaded, but NOT SUBMITTED. If you use
"Add File" by mistake, you can then press "Send File" and select
your already-uploaded file from the dropdown list in order to complete
the process and submit it to the instructor.
