  • xfig graphical editor
    xfig is an X11 tool that is handy for creating diagrams. It is straightforward to draw directed graphs and circuits with xfig, which can be exported in EPS for inclusion in LaTeX documents.
    It is also possible to export pstex and pstex_t files that allow LaTeX to typeset text and mathematics embedded in a diagram.
