March 19
- No lab on March 19 and 21, but the TAs will be available during the lab periods (in the Torgersen rooms), if you need help with HW 2 (see next bullet).
- HW 2 due March 21, 11:55pm; submit through blackboard . Blackboard will be ready to accept submissions by March 19 at 6pm.
February 26
- Homework 1B is now available through blackboard until Friday (Feb 29) midnight. It is exactly the same as Homework 1 except that there is no time limit (except the submission deadline) so you can do as much looking up or testing as you need. Note that only one submission is allowed. Those who have received a score of 20 in HW 1 need not take this HW.
- Project 2 (due March 10) has been posted. Web-cat submissions for Project 2 will be available by Thursday.
- The midterm exam (two parts) will be held in class on March 12 (multiple choice portion) and March 17 (programming portion). Coverage of the midterm is Chapters 1 through 5 of the textbook. There will be a midterm review session on March 10 in class.
February 21
- Homework 1 will be available through blackboard between Friday (Feb 22) noon and Monday (Feb 25) midnight. It will be carried out pretty much like an online quiz. You will have 1 hour to complete the 20-item homework. The honor code applies for this homework (as in all other HWs) which means you should complete this on your own, although you are free to use the resources we have used in this course (textbook, slides, compiler) as references.
