For your proposal, it is recommended that you use the supplied skeleton (available in PDF, PostScript, and LaTeX formats) as a guideline. As an example, Dr. Heath has completed a sample proposal that shows approximately what is expected of your proposal. Of course, the actual content and structure of your proposal will vary with your selected topic.
Selecting a topic may be one of the more difficult parts of your project. To get motivated, please consult some of the recommended sources of information from which you may obtain topics. Of course, Dr. Heath and your GTAs will be available to consult with you on the selection of your topic.
If you'd like to see some examples of the quality and style that your final paper is expected to exhibit, please read some of Dr. Heath's papers. A few of his published papers are listed below; others may be found on Dr. Heath's Curriculum Vitae.
