Project:

• Fall 1998:
  • List the five "values" that most affect and direct your life,
  • and then over the next week keep a diary of your decisions (at least one a day surely) and the value principle that mot influenced your decision.

  • Have students identify where their personal values fit into classical ethical models and professional codes of ethics presented. Then have them discuss a case study in small groups using their own personal values as the basis for decision-making.

• Read the program of community values awareness of the Plainfield Community School.
  1. This program effectively limits the list of values to 12 - the number of months in the year. Is this sufficient? Or should the program use two or more values a month for emphasis?
  2. Are all the values selected truly "values" or are some expected actions?
  3. Extract the values listed and write a brief justification for each.
