Subject: Operator meanings

I am having trouble finding out what the operators in Prolog mean.
On this page:
http://www.intranet.csupomona.edu/~jrfisher/www/prolog_tutorial/4.html#4
.13
It only gives the precedence and how do use them. What good is that when
it does not describe what the operator does?
I’ve searched the net for other pages that might explain prolog
operators but all I find are pages about precedence and notation.

Thanks
