CS 4944 Fall 2021 Exit Presentation
Prepare and record a simple video presentation, with accompanying presentation materials, e.g., 5-10 powerpoint slides.
The goal of the presentation is to summarize the most influential factors and experiences in your education here at VT,
as well as what you plan to do with that education after graduation. The style of this presentation should be that of an
informal business presentation, i.e., the kind you would give if you were updating your supervisor on the status of a
project. The presentations will be evaluated on the quality of the visual and oral presentation.
Your recorded presentation should be about 5 minutes in length. Just your voice recorded over the powerpoint slides is fine.
Upload the following 2 deliverables on Canvas:
- Upload a copy of your presentation slides (pptx or pdf).
- Upload your recorded video of your presentation or provide a link where it can be found. If you use zoom, you can record to your local computer and then upload the mp4.
Below are some suggestions on what to include in your presentation. However, these are just suggestions. What you cover and how you present your thoughts is up to you. The goal is to communicate the most important things from your personal experience and perspective.
- Looking back on your years at VT
- Your courses: best class, hardest class, most useful class, etc.
- What you know now that you wish you knew then. Advice to your younger self.
- How would you change the undergraduate CS program, if you were in charge?
- Looking forward after graduation
- What's next for you? What options are you looking at (jobs, grad school, etc.)? What trade-offs do you see in these choices? How are you going to decide?
- What gaps do you see in your education? What would you like to learn more about? How are you going to go about doing that?
Your video and materials will not be shared. General comments will only be shared anonymously.
