CS 4944: Senior Seminar

Task 1.
Attend one technical talk or seminar. Write a
two-paragraph response to the presentation---one paragraph summarizing the
content and one paragraph politely critiquing the presentation.
The quality of your writing will be assessed for this assignment.

Task 2. Attend class on September 14 to participate
in a discussion with representatives from industry.
Task 3. Write a 4-5 paragraph essay on the topic described
here.

Task 4.
- Read "Entrepreneurship during a slump" by Draper, which appeared in the August 2009
issue of CACM

- Read "Engineering rural development" by Parikh, which appeared in the January 2009
issue of CACM

- Attend class on October 5 or 12 and participate in a discussion
of these articles.

Reflecting on these articles, your experience in CS at VT, and
this program outcome, write a thoughtful two-paragraph response to
