This assignment may optionally be done with a partner. You are strongly advised to use a partner. If you do use a partner, then:

• The final submission should contain the name of both partners.
• Only one partner need actually make the submission to Web-CAT.
• Your solutions should explain, for each question, the contribution for each partner.

For this assignment you have these three problems to solve. [Note: The third problem was changed on 9/27 to specify that the digits 1-9 are used.]

For the first problem, explain your reasoning for the assignments of digits to letters. For the second and third problems, you need only supply the answer, not an explanation for your reasoning.
