CS 4804 Homework #7
Date Assigned: November 10, 2003
Date Due: November 14, 2003, in class, before class starts
- (35+35+30=100 points) Come up with your own examples of EBG
(type A learning), RBL (type B learning), and KBIL (type C learning)
from real life. These can be your own life experiences (e.g., ones
where you recall yourself as the agent performing these types
of learning) or possible situations (where you feel that
these are the required techniques). The examples should not be
ones discussed in class, or presented in your book, or minor
variants thereof. Also, it is a honor code violation to "lift"
(not elevate) examples from a source without due credit. Full
credit will be given to examples that are correct and that
were not lifted. Furthermore, carefully describe what each of:
- Old Knowledge (your book calls it "Background Knowledge")
- New Knowledge (your book calls it "Hypothesis")
- Descriptions
- Classifications
is, and how they satisfy the conditions of the desired learning
approach.
Note: Since this is a simple assignment, grading will
be very tight. Your examples must perfectly satisfy the entailment
constraints of each learning approach; there should be no room
left for multiple interpretations.
