The lab is situated in the large room to the far right, as you work through the front doors. The hardware configuration is as follows: 13 - SGI O2 175 MHz IP32 R10000 Processor 128 MB Memory 2 - SGI Octane 195 MHz IP30 R10000 Processor 128 MB Memory MXI Graphics 1 - SGI Origin200 fileserver 4 - 180 MHz IP27 R10000 Processor 256 MB Memory 45 GB Disk Two of the O2 machines are outfitted with the Audio/Video package and one O2 includes the Presenter package using a flat panel LCD and Dukane overhead projector. "O2 turns your application into video source by allowing any portion of the screen to be recorded in real time directly to disk, negating the need for a VCR to enable video editing. Users can also output the screen recording to external video via the composite video or S-Video ports." (O2 Product Guide) The lab machines contain a suite of SGI MediaTools: movieplayer soundfiler capture movieconvert videoin soundplayer soundtrack imginfo imgworks soundeditor cdplayer videoout mediaconvert imgview image_editor imgcopy mediaplayer moviemaker imglab mediarecorder All machines are outfitted with most of the SGI Varsity software: http://www.sgi.com/silicon_campus/varsity_swp.html Other software currently available include: Mathematica http://www.wolfram.com/ Matlab http://www.mathworks.com/ Geomview http://www.geom.umn.edu/software/download/geomview.html WorldToolKit & WorldUp http://www.sense8.com/ Load Sharing Facility http://www.platform.com/ If you have any questions or if you would like a tour of the facility, please let me know.
