Regarding Virtual Reality software, Sense8 makes some of the best. It works on Pentium-type systems like Intergraph - see http://www.intergraph.com/ics/vizsim/realizm.htm There will be an extensive demo on 4/18, Friday, 10am - 12 noon, Whit 518. All are invited. See also an earlier msg from the visitor running that demo, copied below. Hope you can attend if interested, regards, eaf - -- - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - -- Date: Thu, 10 Apr 97 21:58:38 UT From: Jacques Jarman Subject: Sense8 visit to Tech Hi all: For those of you who don't know me, I am Jacques Jarman, the Eastern Regional Representative for Sense8. I have been working with most of the people on the circulation list to put in place a site license for Sense8 software at Virginia Tech. It appears that there is now enough interest and funding to make this a reality! I will be at Tech all day Thursday, April 17th and the morning of the 18th. During that time I hope to meet with as many people as possible to discuss how Sense8 tools can be used to help visualize data, develop simulations and create VR worlds running on systems ranging from low end PC's to high-end SGI's powering your CAVE. I hope John Kelso will be able to schedule a conference room for a group discussion Thursday morning. I would like part of this meeting to focus on how Sense8 software can be used to develop CAVE applications on remote PC , SUN or SGI machines. Please let me know if there are other topics you would like addressed at this group audience. If you are interested in scheduling a meeting to discuss your specific needs, please email me with the time you would like to get together. I look forward to meeting with you next week. Sincerely, Jacques Jarman Sense8 Corporation (301) 571-2450 jacques@sense8.com
