2. Non-blocking (asynchronous) communication

   • Looked at the vast richness of MPI calls available for people who want to write clever, non-blocking message-passing code, including the basics (Isend, Irecv, Wait, Test), and other exotic animals such as Waitall, Waitany, Waitsome, Probe, Iprobe, Testall, Testany and Testsome. We were moved and humbled.

   • We also looked at this example illustrating a fairness issue in asynchronous message passing.
