Objective:
Learn basic comparative analysis of user interfaces. Each student will collect individual data, then in class we will pool results for collective analysis.
Instructions:
Pick a movie of your choice. Your task is to find a convenient playing time and location of the movie for you. Treat this as real. The playing time should be a time when you actually would want to go see the movie, perhaps on this Friday night.
You should perform this task three times, once using each of the three following systems, not necessarily in this order:
- 1-800-555-TELL
- www.moviefone.com
- www.hollywood.com/showtimes/
For each system, write down the total time (in seconds) it takes you to perform the task. Bring these results to class. When you arrive at class, you will enter your numbers into our spreadsheet and we will analyze the results together.
