10 Commandments of Computer Ethics

Continuing on the theme of "Community Values", it is common that the institutions to which we belong have their own set of "Codes of Practice". These include not only schools and religious organizations, but also:

In the early 1990s a group of concerned computer professionals developed the 10 Commandments of Computer Ethics

Military "Core Values"

The US Air Force provides its members, officer, enlisted person, and civilian with a "Little Blue Book" of CORE VALUES that is really worth reading. The core values are based on:

  • Excellence in all we do
The US Army Core Values are:
  • Loyalty
  • Duty
  • Respect
  • Service
  • Honor
  • Integrity
  • Courage
US Navy Core Values:
  • Honor
  • Courage
  • Commitment
U.S. Coast Guard Core Values:
  • Honor
  • Respect
  • Devotion to duty
