Guide to writing for assignments in Dr. Hartson's CS3604: See this for expectations, writing guidelines, grading criteria, and other aids for planning and doing your writing.
Cover sheet: You are required to print a copy of the writing assignment cover sheet and attach it to the front of each writing assignment that you submit. Use this link to get a copy of the cover sheet. We will use the categories on the cover sheet as a guide for grading your writing assignment, so you should use them as a guide for writing. The categories are further discussed in the Guidelines For Your Writing section of the Guide to writing assignments in Dr. Hartson's CS3604. NOTE: The cover sheet for grading will also have a category for point deductions! This is for certain requirements that are so easy to comply with that they are not worth positive points of credit for people who do meet these requirements. It is, however, irritating enough if they are not met, that points will be deducted in such cases.
The Writing Assignments
All due dates are on the course calendar. There are five assignments, some with multiple parts. See the Summary of Writing Assignments. Follow these links for the specific assignments (your writing requirements) and the corresponding cover sheets, to be stapled on top for grading.
For all assignments with multiple drafts (including this one), always hand in all previous drafts (the marked up copy with the cover sheet, not a newly printed one). Put the latest version on top, with successively older versions behind. We need this to grade you on how you improved with the iteration.
