- C++ or Java is to be used for the
programming projects.
- The projects are to be developed using
the MS Visual C++ (Version 6.0 or 5.0) / JDK compiler and under Unix or MS Windows NT / 95
/ 98. For more details see the project guidelines.
- The grading of the programming
projects will be based on two aspects: correctness and style. The
correctness of the programs will be worth 60% of the total grade. The program
must pass all test cases in order to obtain all the points in this category.
The second aspect, style is worth 40% of the total grade. No points will be
given here if the grade for correctness is 0. In order to obtain all points here, it
is strongly recommended that one follow the Computer Science department's Elements
of Good Programming Style handout. This can be obtained at the URL http://ei.cs.vt.edu/~cs2604/Standards/Standards.html.
- The test data for the projects will be
posted on the web site in advance.
- The projects can be submitted to the
GTA in person during her office hours.
