You're missing something. A move of "none" is still a move. An animal always executes its movements and then searches for food. The prey moved into the grendel's square, and then on the grendel's next turn, since the grendel doesn't move, he searches the square he was in for food. He kills and eats the prey.

: I have a discrepancy with the simplekilldatalog.txt

: ----------------------------------------------
: Command 30: status Tom
: Grendel Tom 42 (6, 7)
: ----------------------------------------------
: Command 31: status Lunch
: Life form not found: Lunch
: ----------------------------------------------
: Command 32: status Munch
: Browser Munch 54 (6, 7)
: ----------------------------------------------
: Command 33: create browser Thumper 20 6 7
: Added a Browser.
: ----------------------------------------------
: Command 34: tick 3
: --------------- tick number: 8
: Tom moved east
: Munch moved south
: Thumper moved east
: --------------- tick number: 9
: Tom gonna munch Thumper
: Munch moved east

: Now, according to this, Tom moving east puts him at (7,7), and Thumper moving east puts him at (7,7), thus making him move into a Grendel's square. At tick 9, Tom doesn't move, and he eats Thumper. To me, this seems like it goes against the spec where it says "... So, if an herbivore wanders into a square already holding a grendel, no harm is done (too dumb to be good food, if you like)." Thumper moved into the Grendel's square, and the Grendel didn't move on the next update, so Tom should NOT eat Thumper b/c Thumper moved into Tom's square.

: Is this an error or am I missing something?

: Thanks
