Actually, in the real world, you get to have beta testers who spam you will e-mail about every little problem that appears in your program (and things that aren't in the program but should be, like multiplayer capability or working AI partners who don't get themselves caught on corners and trees in their vain attempt to help you, but instead hindering you and rendering you unable to finish the level). Oh, and you get somewhere around 6 years and millions of dollars to design programs that don't work in the end.
