CS 2604 Announcements - Summer I 2003
[Week 4]
[June 12]
- I've posted a draft specification for the second major project... data
will follow soon.
- I've posted three more chapters of notes... that should get us through
Monday.
[June 11]
- I've posted updated test data for the hash table minor project... this is
from the generator that will be used on the Curator. Enjoy!
[June 9]
- I've posted a very minor revision of the spec for the hash table minor
project. That project will be due midnight, Sunday June 15.
[June 8]
- The midterm will be on Tuesday, June 10. It will cover everything
through AVL trees, but not hashing.
- I've posted the solution for the complexity
homework.
[Week 3]
[June 5]
- I've posted the specification for the third minor
project, a hash table implementation.
[Week 2]
[May 31]
- I've updated the BST notes on the Notes
page to correct an error in the inorder-traversal diagram given in the
discussion of a BST iterator.
- I've uploaded the score reports for Homework 1 to
the Curator; you can download your report from the system under the heading HW1Reports.
The key has also been posted on the Homework
page.
[May 30]
- I've posted source code for a random-number generator for the Skiplist
project; be sure you use this in your implementation.
- I've updated the Projects
page to include revised due dates for the BST project and the Skiplist
project.
- Homework 2, on algorithm analysis, has been posted.
[May 29]
- The Curator is now accepting the BST template
implementation.
[Week 1]
[May 22]
- I've posted a major revision of the Minor Project 2 specification.
The basic difference is that I'm imposing more rigid requirements on the
names of the data members you use in your implementation of the BST.
[May 21]
- I've posted two more data sets for the huge integer project. Enjoy!
- The TAs will begin their office hours today in McB 124. Ranjit will
be in from 11:00 to 5:00 today and Tony will be in from 11:00 to 3:00
today. We will announce their final schedule shortly.
- I've posted a slight revision of the Minor Project 1
specification. Changes will always be highlighted in yellow. The
change this time was to acknowledge that there will always be a tab
character after the exit command. The
posted data file already conformed to that.
[Preliminary]
[May 13]
- A Forum (discussion board) for CS 2604 is now
available. There is a link to it in the table of contents for this
website. To use the Forum you must log in with your VT PID and
password. Be sure to read the welcome message that's posted on the
2604 Forum for usage guidelines.
[May 13]
- Students who need to force-add CS 2604 must
attend the first class meeting and fill out a CS Department force-add
request form. No decisions will be made regarding force-adds until
after the first class meeting. NOTE: There will be absolutely NO
exceptions to the stated prerequisites for this course. Do not waste
my time by requesting one.
