: There is a course offered to substitue the CS 1044. It is ACIS 2504, which should be much easier and more pertanite to our studies as BIT or MGT. In my opinion this CS 1044 or C++ in general, should be strickly for CS majors. Why else would anyone want to learn programming if they were not in a CS major?
Address this question to the proper target: the people in the College of Business who set the requirements for your particular degree.
As for the demise of the FORTRAN and COBOL courses, the former died due to lack of demand and the second died partly due to lack of resources (in CS). We're creating a new Java course aimed at Business but don't expect it to be any easier than 1044.
