WHISTLE BLOWING

Objectives

Whistle Blowing is generally a term for the action of exposure of fraud and abuse by an employee or member of an organization. In the context of this course we go further and suggest that it is equally applicable to the exposure of unethical actions of others, including the reporting of cheating in the classroom.

The actions of Roger Boisjoly in connection with the "flawed decision making" processes that preceded the launch of the NASA Shuttle Challenger are the primary case study in this unit.
