This is a study of the use of a tablet-pc to provide peer review comments
in a UML design via a UML tool built here by a student. The tool allows comments
to be entered either in "post-it notes" or in free-form handwriting.
We are interested in exploring what impact it has to use a tablet-pc (i.e. with
pen input) to enter comments into a UML design. The experiment will be carried
out by Scott Turner, an MS student, soon (in Sept.). There are three conditions
(desktop, laptop, tablet).
Student participants will serve as experimental subjects (participants). We
are looking for 12 people each in 3 sessions of about 1 1/2 hours. The scheduled
times
for the sessions are:
Mon 9/27 12:15-1:45
Wed 9/29 12:15-1:45
Wed 9/29 2:00-3:30
We have a signup sheet soon for students to pick times.
To entice people to sign up, I will be raffling off a PDA. (Those are pretty good odds.)
If you are interested, please send me an email (scturner@vt.edu) with the
sessions you could possibly attend listed in order of preference.
